Hundreds Learn About Stevens

About 550 people learned about Thaddeus Stevens and his Caledonia iron mill this
summer as a result of the Society staffing of the Thaddeus Stevens Blacksmith Shop.
For the last several years, the Society has volunteered people to be at the shop for two-
hours on Sundays from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We have told about Stevensâ
€™s accomplishments and the history of the Caledonia mill. The park administration
has been extremely helpful in this effort and special thanks go out to Park Manager
Bruce McFate and Wesley Foltz, the park’s environmental interpretative
technician.
